 Jo-Ann Etc. Adult Education Classes - 114th & Metcalf

Sewing 101
First Thursday - and now Saturday - continues to be the best-attended of any of the classes I teach.  In every class there are students who haven't sewn since junior high school, as well as those who simply have a new machine and need the confidence to get started.  I just love to see the enthusiasm mount as we tackle some of those complicated seam finishes.  It makes me so happy to see those grins get wider as they inspect their work and realize _ "YES - I can do it" and pretty darn well!  Soon enough they're ignoring me and taking off on their own.  What a charge I get, every class!

WINTER Sewing News

Big News!  Oh BABY is available.  It meets on Fridays, February 11 and 18 from 6 to 8:30pm.  Cost $55.00 for both sessions.  You'll make a blanket with bound edge plus a cute bib on the 11th, and will make either a shirt or dress on the 18th.  This class is perfect for new moms and moms-to-be, and those fairly new to sewing.

If you want a Bridge class, Sewing 102, it will be offered on Monday, March 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Please call the store to schedule at 913-696-0606.  In this class we learn to install zippers painlessly, put in or re-do hems on the machine and/or by hand, make machine buttonholes and go over pattern instructions - plus practice those fancy seams.

Check out the new projects on the wall.  The January and February projects are up on the wall and at the Open House on February 12 between 1 and 3pm; most classes will be half price!  The only ones not on sale are beginning Wilton and all Trend classes including Help Me Finish My Project (only $10.00 - please call ahead and let Customer Service know you'll be there) and  Sewing for Baby (2 sessions) is $55.00.

Plan to be inspired by the new projects planned for March and April.  We'll be doing a neat home decor pillow, cute Vera Bradley-type purse, a versitle top and spring/summer dress - besides the usual Sewing 101 and Lazy Pants.D

 Items for Sale

Etsy
I will be listed and selling on Etsy.com. -soon, I hope (this is getting ridiculous.)  This site is geared to quality home-crafted merchandise.   I'll have to spend a day photographing, writing descriptions, etc.  This is something new for me.  I'lve been busy shovelling snow and taking care of end-of-year and new-year projects lately, so I'm behind on getting the site, including photos, up and running soon.  I've made several really cute black/white print totes and am currently working on some gorgeous summer print bags which I'm titling "the Girls of Summer."

FUNdraising Ideas 101
It may seem odd to be promoting a book - but since my daughter and I wrote it, I decided to include it.  Look at my website, WinningWithWilliams.com for more information about this fabulous fundraising helps ideas and about the four companion books.
